The Standard

Restaurant: The Standard
Comments: It was a lovely Saturday afternoon and Laura had invited myself and a few other bloggers and instagram foodies to do a tasting of the new winter menu at the Standard. I had only been to the Standard twice prior to today and the most memorable dish for me was the chicken grill with rice noodles, it was simple and delicious. Today we got to try 7 items on the new winter menu and my favourites would have to be the beef carpaccio, the mushroom doughnuts and the passion parfait. Yes, you read that correctly. Mushroom doughnuts! Yum!!! A special thanks to John and Laura for organising this and chef Chase for the delicious food. Another thing I really like about this place is the layout (the upstairs section with some great views in particular). Oh and they have nice hand soap (very important).
